Our Featured Boating ArticleBuying A Boat - Why You Need A Boat Bill Of Sale Form When Buying A Boat
By Darren D King
Most boats are purchased through private sales. Prospective buyers of any watercraft are recommended to protect themselves with a professional boat bill of sale form. This is a fast and accepted way to provide peace of mind about your purchase.
The first thing a prospective boat buyer should do is to investigate the current market price for boats of a comparable size and power. The NADA online guide is a simple way to do this. Some other things to ask include whether the boat has ever been fined or has any outstanding fines? Has the boat ever been involved in an accident? How many hours does the motor have and is there any proof of a maintenance history? And finally does the boat have a current registration?
Buying a boat from a private seller can have some advantages too. Many times you will pick up some extras that you would have had to pay extra for with a brand new boat. Things like a marine radio, anchor, boat cover and even a trailer may all be bundled together and make a great buy.
Once you have agreed to buy the boat you should record the following details on your boat bill of sale form. Be sure to include both your own and the sellers name, the make and model of the boat, the price at which the boat was sold, the hull identification number, the date you bought the boat and lastly the signatures of both parties.
Completing a boat bill of sale form will make certain that you have documented your purchase as well as providing proof of ownership. It's an easy way to protect yourself and is essential for all aspiring boat owners.

Tips On cruiser sailboat
Applications for jetboats include most activities where conventional propellers are also used, but in particular passenger ferry services, coastguard and police patrol, navy and military, adventure tourism (which is becoming increasingly popular around the globe), pilot boat operations, surf rescue, farming, fishing, exploration, pleasure boating, and other water activities where motor boats are used. Jetboats can also be raced for sport, both on rivers and on specially designed racecourses. Many jetboats are small enough to be carried on a trailer and towed by car. Recently there has been increasing use of jetboats in the form of rigid-hulled inflatable boats and as luxury yacht tenders.

Most of today's modern inflatable boats easily match conventional runabouts for speed and handling, while some of the more sophisticated rigid-hulled inflatables are clearly superior to ordinary fiberglass or aluminum boats. For instance, the Virage range of sports boats features Zodiac's patented Futura speed tubes to produce amazing lift and stability. Because the Futura hull merely kisses the water, it creates less drag and thus requires less power to reach incredible speeds while performing with absolute safety. The big rigid-hulled inflatable superboats are equally impressive. With deep V-keels up forward and flat planing sections aft they can produce an astonishingly comfortable ride in tough offshore conditions, yet maneuver with ease in the tightest dock or harbor.
A bass boat is a low-profile, outboard-powered boat, generally no more than 22 feet long and typically equipped with rod lockers, casting decks with pedestal seats and livewells.

I thought it would be interesting to hear about the various methods used to mark anchor chain on a sailing yacht. I have seen a very effective method of having cable-ties every 10 meters - one for 10m. 2 for 20m, etc.
